Communication: Building Bridges
The Office of Community Relations in the Ogden School District is one of the most exciting places to be. We have the pleasure of working with students, teachers, administrators, parents and the community as a whole.
Our purpose is to connect to all our stakeholders through positive communication.
How do we do that? We work closely with three newspapers and four television stations as well as Ogden's own Channel 17 to tell our stories.
We love to see our outstanding students featured in the media and this is a great way for those who do not have students in our district to connect to our schools and be up to date with the educational process.
The Office of Community Relations connects to our parents through the PTA, our "Connections" newsletters and our Community Councils which oversees several plans but work closely with us on their LAND Trust plans and their Child Access Routing Plan.
We also work closely with the Ogden Police Department through the D.A.R.E. program and our School Resource Officers to ensure a safe learning environment for every student.
We enjoy the many partnerships that we have developed with our community. From being members of Partners In Education with the Chamber of Commerce, to Foster Grandparents and Senior Volunteers to Weber State University. We work with many partners to meet the needs of all our students in our schools.
But, one of the best things we do is honor our own. Whether it be a
- Focus on Excellence award given to an employee,
- or our new Empowering Educational Partnerships Award given to a member of our community,
- or our Student of the Month award where we honor our outstanding students,
We love talking about the great things happening in the Ogden School District.
