Welcome
Entry Years Enhancement (eye)

The Entry Years Enhancements (EYE) is a structured support program for Level 1 educators as they fulfill the requirements for a Utah State Level 2 professional license. EYE provides Level 1 educators with accredited school, district, and state support for a three-year period.  All Level 1 educators are equired to participate and all requirements must be completed within the first three years of service.

The goal of the EYE program is to encourage Level 1 educators to develop successful teaching skills and strtegies as described in the Utah Professional Teacher Standards (UPTS) with assistance from experienced colleagues.  Upon successful completion of three years of service and all EYE requirements, the district/accredited school may recommend the Level 1 educator for a Level 2 Utah Professional Eductor License.  If all EYE requirements have not been met, the district/accredited school may request a one-time, one-year extension at their discretion.

In addition to the State requirement, the Ogden School District provides ALL teachers new to the district with an experienced, trained mentor colleague who will assist them in their transition into the school community.

Professional Development is an integral component of the EYE program.  Skills for Effective Teaching classes are provided for those who are interested in furthering their teaching skill as well as support for those needing to take their Praxis PLT exam.
