Erik Thompson, Ogden High teacher, named OSD 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year!

Congratulations Erik Thompson, Ogden High School teacher and coach, for being named the Ogden School District 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year!

Erik Thompson came to the Ogden School District and specifically to Ogden High School to increase opportunities for students in the classroom and on the field.

Mr. Thompson has made tremendous strides with the football program, and has worked tirelessly in building up the school culture and the community of Ogden High. He goes above and beyond to positively impact students, by supporting and inspiring them to be the best that they can be on and off the field.

Through Mr. Thompson’s leadership and continued efforts, he has increased participation and the success of student-athletes, students in the classroom, as well as building community participation and commitment. He leads his students and colleagues by example of what it means to be a "person of influence" in the school and the community. Mr. Thompson’s love, commitment and devotion to his students and colleagues is second to none! His example is worthy of emulation by all, and for these reasons, and a host of others, we are proud to announce Mr. Thompson as the Ogden School District Teacher of the Year!

"I really appreciate this, it means a lot. I am very fortunate of the family I have. When I was young it meant a lot to serve others, but it means so much more now that I am older. What you give to someone is so much more than what you get, and I continue to try to be like my Mom and Dad and do my best, Thompson said. "I really see us being here at Ogden High, not as a job, but as a calling and I am super excited. It's super hard, it's the hardest job I've ever had, but with that the joys and successes can't be replaced by any place I've ever been before. I love being here and thank you all for this honor."
