Ogden School District ARP ESSER Application
This file is a detailed summary of the Ogden School District application for ARP and ESSER funds.

As part of the application for the U.S. Department of Education, USBE leaders met with a diverse group of stakeholders to get input on statewide needs in May 2021. USBE identified three issues currently facing students and schools across Utah as a result of COVID-19. Districts are urged to consider these priority areas in designing plans for the use of ARP ESSER funds:

1. Student mental health and social emotional needs including student health foundations and protective factors. 
2. Missing or Disengaged Students K-12
3. Literacy

• Required to use a minimum of 20% of ARP ESSER funds to accelerate student learning through through implementation of evidence-based interventions.
• Application includes a narrative response that details ARP ESSER plan for remaining funds in alignment with the allowable use cases.

OSD must determine:

1. Is the use of funds intended to prevent, prepare for, or respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, including its impact on the social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs of students?
2. Does the use of funds fall under one of the authorized uses of ESSER funds?
3. Is the use permissible under the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards?

Aug. 19, 2021: Board Presentation

• Share the results of the recent focus groups with key stakeholders

Aug. 20 - Sept. 1, 2021: Finalize Expenditure Plan

• Cabinet will organize the plan ideas and align them with ARP ESSER priorities and allowable expenditures.

Sept. 2, 2021: Board Presentation

• Share final draft of ARP ESSER Plan and make modifications as necessary.

Sept. 16, 2021: Board Approval and Public Website

• Final approval by School Board and Ogden School District Plan public for ongoing review and feedback.
