Alternative Language Services
In order to prepare Limited English Proficient students to function in a global society, Ogden School District will provide the necessary services to ensure equal access to all educational opportunities.Alternative Language Services are designed to ensure academic rigor, cultural relevance, positive learning environments, and ongoing English language learning for students learning English as a Second or Other Language.
All Ogden City School District students learning English as a second language receive specific, targeted instruction in English Language Development.Teachers throughout the district and at each school are trained in appropriate methods of instruction including the use of Sheltered Instruction (as per the SIOP model), best practices and current research regarding these practices.
