Entry Years Enhancement
(EYE)
EYE (Entry Years Enhancement) is the program the state has provided to support you as you move from a Level 1 teaching license to a Level 2 teaching license. Typically this takes three years. The goal of the program is to help you develop the teaching skills and strategies described in the UTAH EFFECTIVE TEACHING STANDARDS. Your site instructional coach will mentor you for three years. You will also receive training and support from the district EYE Teacher Leader, Jeanne Cameron, who will help you track your progress. Feel free to contact her with any EYE questions (801-430-3052 or 801-737-7324).

LEA recommendation for upgrade to Level 2 (Spring)
*Praxis Test Information -- taken from ets.org
There are two types of Praxis that you need to be concerned about:
- The first is the content Praxis. Go to the ets.org link above to find the content test for your grade/subject. This test typically is passed before graduation, if you live in Utah. However, if you are coming from another state, you need to take it before you can be considered highly qualified in Utah.
- The second Praxis is the Praxis PLT (Principles of Learning and Teaching). You need to pass this before getting your level 2 license. This is typically taken in your third year, but you may take it any time, as long as you leave enough time for your scores to be processed prior to upgrading to a level 2 license. License upgrades happen just before June 30 of each year. You may access information about this test at the ets.org link above. Contact Jeanne Cameron (cameronj@ogdensd.org) if you would like preparation materials.
All license upgrades must be completed by June 30 of the year the license expires. This means all the upgrade requirements must be completed and posted on cactus, and HR has recommended you for a license upgrade BY jUNE 30.
