Attendance Policy
Being in school consistently is important to ensure students gain a strong foundation for subsequent learning. Achievement, especially in mathematics, is very sensitive to attendance, and an absence of even two weeks during one school year matters. Students are expected to attend school 95% or more of the time, which means they can only miss 9 school days per year. Attendance interventions will be issued once a student drops below 90% attendance.
Parents are responsible for excusing student absences. If an absence is not cleared, the student will be marked with an unexcused absence. Students who are not in the classroom after the final bell rings at 8:20 will be counted as tardy and must get a late slip from the office. Tardies are recorded and parents are notified when they become excessive.
