Summer Programs 2020
The global covid-19 pandemic created a chasm between the end of the 2019-2020 school year and the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Without taking steps to overcome this challenge, the disruption to our normal learning environment could threaten to leave some students behind. That is why Ogden School District has created the Summer Bridge Program. This uniquely focused support system is designed to bridge the gap from spring to fall and provide a path for every student to reach their destination.
We are pleased to offer programs that make summer learning fun while keeping students engaged through collaboration and discovery.
Parents who wish to enroll their students in any summer program must complete the entire online registration form.
Grade levels listed for summer programs refer to the 2019-2020 school year.

During the summer Math Boot Camp, students in grades 3-8 will experience highly-engaging virtual learning activities while receiving personalized support from an assigned teacher. The six-week program will focus on preparing all students for the upcoming school year by providing a series of lessons that target the “major works” of the grade-level mathematics core standards.
Each week of learning will be situated around a stand-alone curriculum that will address a specific set of standards and skills. For parents and students who are comfortable spending time at one of our schools, the district will offer voluntary face-to-face instruction as a supplement to the core learning in the virtual environment.
As students enter the virtual courses, they will be assigned to a teacher who will provide continuous support throughout the process. Teachers will engage students via online discussion boards, feedback on assignments, small-group or individual video conferencing sessions, and/or phone calls.
Students can register for a single week’s instruction or multiple weeks, depending on their self-evaluated needs.

Ogden School District’s Secondary Math Summer Program offers online, teacher-directed Canvas courses designed to help students recover credits in Secondary Math 1, 2, or 3 and acquire the necessary foundational skills needed to be successful in future math courses. Math standards create a foundation that build upon each other. Students who have struggled and failed a math course may not be adequately prepared for success in following math courses. Attending the Ogden School District Secondary Math Summer Program will prepare students to be successful in next year’s math courses and be on track for high school graduation.
Three separate two-week sessions will be offered this summer. Students will be able to earn 0.25 credits of math recovery each session. All sessions will be delivered online through Canvas, with required daily video instruction and check-ins with the teacher.
