Ogden School District recently hosted a successful soft opening for its brand-new Opportunity Center at 2563 Monroe Blvd. Designed to bring together community partners, families, and school staff, the event highlighted the district’s core belief: Strong Schools, Strong Families, Strong Community.

The soft opening served as a dual-purpose gathering—giving on-site partners a chance to network, build relationships, and recruit, while introducing local families to essential school and community resources ahead of the upcoming academic year.

District family liaisons were on hand throughout the day to guide families through the back-to-school registration process, answer questions, and distribute essential school supplies. By bridging the gap between home, school, and local organization support, the liaisons ensured families felt welcomed, prepared, and empowered for the school year ahead.

Attendees had the opportunity to connect directly with a wide variety of local service providers offering support in areas such as family learning, health and wellness, early childhood development, and financial assistance.

Participating community partners included:

• Educational & Family Programs: Ogden School District Adult Education, WSU Family Literacy Program, WSU Building Puentes Program, UPSTART, Scholastic Books

• Community Support & Youth Services: United Way of Northern Utah, Boys and Girls Club, Youth Build, Ogden Weber Community Action, Ogden Jets

• Health, Wellness & Assistance: Midtown Clinic, WIC, Weber Human Services, Utah Tax Help, Jackie's Recovery, Renewed Beginnings

The Opportunity Center aims to be a continuous hub of support, growth, and connection. As the district moves forward, more services and resources will continue to be added to serve students and families.
